An 8-year-old boy died this Saturday in Olavarría, the product of a ferocious attack by a pit bull that belonged to the child’s family, who was preparing a birthday celebration in a nearby dining room.
Around 11 in the morning, in the Coronel Dorrego neighborhood, on 800 Necochea Street, the victim was playing soccer in a square in front of his house, when the dog got loose, crossed the gate and the street and unleashed the aggression, reports El Popular.
The bites caused the minor, identified as Luis Farra, serious injuries that sentenced his death just over two hours later at the Héctor Cura Hospital, where he was urgently transferred after relatives and neighbors came to his aid.
According to local press reports, the pit bull also attacked other children and another dog, although no physical damage was reported on them.
Civil Defense, Police and Bromatology personnel carried out tasks to capture the animal and transfer it to another place.
At that moment, security forces arrived at the place, where the fact is still being investigated under the orders of prosecutor Miguel Piñeiro, in charge of UFI No. 10.

In December 2022, in Caleta Olivia, Santa Cruz province, a pit bull attacked a teenager in the 3 de febrero neighborhood and the victim’s father decided to take justice into his own hands: he went looking for the animal and stabbed it to death.
A young man, who turned 13 on January 1, was walking with two friends, ages 11 and 14. They were walking along Lidoro Reynoso street at 400 with a dog when a pit bull attacked one of the minors, knocking him over to the ground and bit his neck.
The scene did not end in tragedy thanks to the fact that a man passing by in his truck decided to intercede. He helped the teenagers and took them to their respective houses.
However, that was not the end. It’s that the victim’s father looked for the dog that had attacked him and killed him with a knife.
“You have to be aware of the dogs that people have loose and leave them on the street, that’s the pitbull that bit my son directly on the neck, luckily nothing happened,” reflected the man in dialogue with El Caletense.
