A mysterious crime occurred in Moreno, where a 76-year-old man was found stabbed to death in the head inside a house in the Buenos Aires town of La Reja. Investigators identified a suspect who was in a meeting with the victim before the incident.
It all happened on Sunday night, when a neighbor saw the old man’s door open and, upon entering, found him covered with a blanket and without vital signs. So, he called 911 to report the situation.
Police agents responded to the alert and, upon arriving at the property, located at 2,800 Juan Bautista Ambrosetti Street, found the fatal victim inside, who was identified as Leonardo Oviedo Gavilán, a Paraguayan national.
Personnel from the Scientific Police were present at the crime scene and verified that the corpse had three blows and sharp wounds in the head area. Immediately afterwards, they transferred the body to the morgue of the Rodríguez General Hospital to carry out the corresponding autopsy.
Meanwhile, residents of the area declared that the old man had been with a man named Alberto for much of the day, with whom he had been drinking alcoholic beverages.
Faced with these testimonies, the police carried out an emergency search of a house near the scene of the crime, where elements of importance to the cause were kidnapped. The suspect has not yet been arrested.
The investigation was carried out by the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 4 of the Moreno-Gral Judicial Department. Rodriguez. They analyze the hypothesis that the crime was related to an act of robbery.
