At least five people, including two minors, were injured on Wednesday night as a result of a shootout that occurred in a residential complex in Fort Lauderdale, a city about 35 kilometers from Miami, in Florida, United States.

As reported by the NBC6 channel, all the victims, whose ages and identities have not yet been revealed, were transferred to the Broward Health Medical Center to receive medical assistance.

According to police sources, the life of one of the adults was at risk due to a serious injury, while the rest were out of danger.

“Police activity in the area of ​​NW 19 Street and NW 29 Avenue in reference to a shooting with multiple victims. The information is preliminary at this time,” wrote the official Twitter account of the Fort Lauderdale Police, which has not yet expanded the information.

The shooting occurred just before 8:40 p.m. (local time) at the Broward Gardens complex. In the patio of that place, people faced shots.

“At about 8:40 pm tonight, at this apartment complex…we had a group of people gathered in the courtyard. A second group of people confronted them. As a result, shots were fired,” Police Chief Patrick Lynn explained at a press conference.

And he completed: “I am going to disclose information about their conditions at this time. We are actively following all the investigative leads.”

In parallel, the police authorities asked the community to help them with testimonies or information to arrest those responsible, who have not yet been identified.

This episode occurs just two days after the tragic shooting that left five dead and two children injured in the United States, more precisely in the Kingsessing neighborhood of Philadelphia, the largest city in the state of Pennsylvania.

The perpetrator of the massacre was identified as Kimbrady Carriker, 40, who on his social networks showed his support for the anti-racist movement Black Lives Matter, as well as his special interest in weapons.

Several media outlets in the United States, including the New York Post, published photos of him dressed as a woman and wearing a bra. In fact, some portals presented him as a man, while others did so as a transgender woman.

The truth is that Carriker went out this Monday night with a rifle, a pistol and a bulletproof vest full of ammunition to walk through the Kingsessing neighborhood, where he randomly killed five men between the ages of 15 and 59, as well as leaving two injured children, ages 2 and 13, before the police managed to arrest them.

The victims, all men, were identified as Lashyd Merritt, 20; Dymir Stanton, 29; Ralph Moralis, 59; Daujan Brown, 15; and Joseph Wamah, Jr., 31.
