The Political Leader of the SP for the district of Fier, Taulant Balla declared that Fieri and Lushnja will have a historic result in these elections, and this will mark the victory of the socialists in all the municipalities of the district of Fier.
“It is not news that we are the winners in the projections in the six municipalities of the district of Fier. First and foremost, many thanks to the wonderful people of Fier, Lushnje, Divjaka, Patos, Roskovec and Mallakastra, who gave us the opportunity and encouraged us to move forward. Second, I want to share with you because we are looking at the first data, the result of Fier and Lushnje that we have just administered is a result that the Socialist Party has never had in Fier and Lushnje. In both municipalities we will have a result above 60%, as well as in Patos and Divjaka we have a very good result. It was a difficult race for the reasons you broadcasted and I take the opportunity to thank you as the media for the coverage you did of the campaign in Roskovec and the one in Mallakastër, where there were actions by the opposing candidates. openly contrary to the law, however our projection is also a winner in these municipalities. What I want to say is that we will read this result very carefully, and of course you know we will go back to 10-6 in Fier in 2025.”
For Taulant Balla, participation in these elections has varied from municipality to municipality. “I think that in Lushnje the participation is higher than a year ago, but it is lower than the average over the years. The participation in Fier is also lower, but what I want to tell you is that the expectation in the votes of the socialist party, whatever the participation was, is for a historic result. That’s why you said, everything over 60%. Every political party worries about its historical vote and I want to tell you that within this participation we will confirm our votes in Fier. Here the result will simply be deepened. I don’t know if we will go as far as Vora in Fier, but we claim to get our vote, an average of the historical vote even in these participation conditions. The truth is that we expect a very good result.”
Regarding the incidents that have accompanied this election process, Balla has stated that it is up to the law enforcement structures to investigate all these incidents. “We have made our respective reports for an unprecedented case that has ever happened, that a candidate of a political formation goes to a voting center and hits those who vote, but when you are the candidate of Salike Florir you can do anything, and great regret for all these who were used in this campaign and put their faces to two people who I believe today closed their accounts with Albania once and for all.”
Although the result of the elections is viewed with optimism for Balla, there are municipalities in the district where the result is expected to be narrower, but still victorious. “Salike Floriri, for example, in the municipality of Mallakastra, is the third force but far below, so you clearly understand what results we expect. In the meantime, we have instructed our enumerators to do their job and what is very important is that every vote and every citizen of the district, as you know throughout Albania, the official position of the SP is that the enumerators do their job and whoever breaks the law, he will face it”.
The head of the socialist parliamentary group has stated that the victory party in Fier will be extraordinary, but after the certification of the elections. “I gave an order today that we will wait for the result, and you can be sure that Fieri has a very big party.”
Taulant Balla has once again returned to the problems encountered for electronic identification. “I do not rule out that in the early hours of the morning, when the CEC’s decision not to wait for the three-hour deadline but to immediately switch to the manual identification of voters, caused problems and may have also caused people’s reason who left the polling stations and never returned to vote. These are tasks that must be addressed within a much deeper reform of the electoral code and the way elections are administered. I believe that we all agree that with the conditions we have had problems when certain political formations did not fill the election commissions, I think the time has come to move to completely depoliticized election commissions so that the election administration has a much greater responsibility and a uniformity, as long as we have agreed to have a depoliticized election commissioner, which is the first level, until the final level, which is that of the counting or administration of the commission of the voting centers, to be depoliticized, that is, not to be more parties. In fact, we have had transitional provisions so that in 2025, or when the elections are held, we will have elections administered by depoliticized structures and not by party proposals”, said Taulant Balla.
