After the crime of Dante Godoy García (21), as a result of an attempted theft of his cell phone in Cuartel V, Moreno district, his parents met with officials from the Ministry of Security of the Province of Buenos Aires. It was after the claim this Wednesday in front of the 4th precinct.
“We went this afternoon with my son’s father, Edgar, to the Operational Command Center at Puente 12 to meet with Sergio Berni to ask for justice and security, but he was not there but other officials,” Juana García told Clarín.
And he clarifies: “They told us that this week they were going to go to the neighborhood but because of the murder and they passed it on for the next week. They promised us to place security cameras and provide patrol cars in Barracks V.”
According to judicial sources in charge of the investigation, “there are no security cameras at the scene and the images from the cameras located in the surroundings are of poor quality.” This makes it difficult to identify the person responsible for the homicide.
Despite the loss of her son, Juana is hopeful that the neighborhood will become safer. Dante had been robbed twice before being killed, each time at gunpoint. “It was the third time they had robbed him with a weapon. The first time they hit him with a butt and gave him six stitches. A month ago they robbed him at 5:30 when he went to work,” his parents explained in the mobilization on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, “they are looking for the person responsible,” explains the woman after the meeting in the La Matanza district. “They said that they were going to do everything possible so that Dante’s crime is clarified and that they are immediately going to work in the area,” she adds.
So far no arrests have been made in the case. “The Ministry called us to let us know that Dante’s parents would meet with Berni and that they were going to pick up my wife. It seemed to me that the one speaking was the minister, it was his voice,” says Cristian, the victim’s stepfather. .
This medium contacted spokespersons for the minister to find out why Berni was absent from the meeting, but they did not respond to the query. There were already strong claims in the province of Buenos Aires for the crime of the bus driver Daniel Barrientos (55) that occurred on April 3 in Virrey del Pino. And as in the case of Dante, Daniel was killed in an attempt to rob the passengers of the bus he was driving.
After Daniel’s murder, the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security announced that in Puente 12 they will form a situation room between the police forces of the province and the National Gendarmerie.
Despite the announcement, the province of Buenos Aires is once again in the news due to an act of insecurity that ended the life of a 21-year-old young man. They tried to steal Dante’s cell phone while he was returning with a friend from a technical school. The robbery was not consummated but he received a 22-caliber bullet impact that caused his death.
In the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) No. 3 of the Moreno – General Rodríguez Judicial Department, in charge of the prosecutor Luisa Pontecorvo, a statement was taken from a single witness to the event, but he could not provide details.
“He only said that Dante’s murderer was riding a bicycle and that he was young: between 18 and 25 years old,” judicial sources explain to Clarín. The testimony of the victim’s friend is a fundamental piece to elucidate the case, but memories of him are vague.
In parallel to this homicide, UFI No. 3 must identify a man who was also murdered in Moreno’s party. His body appeared on the side of Provincial Route 24 this Thursday morning, at the height of Francisco Álvarez.
The corpse had its head covered by a bag and a T-shirt. The man had received at least two bullets and his body was naked, bound with belts and gagged. The date of death would be between 18 and 24 hours prior to the discovery.
