President Joe Biden was asked Monday whether he or any other future president should consider a pardon Donald Trumpwho faces possible federal charges in the investigation of classified documents.
Biden didn’t answer much — but managed to speak volumes at the same time.
The question came from Fox News’ Peter Doocy.
“Did you see that Ron DeSantis said if he became president he would pardon Trump?” Doocy asked. “How do you feel about presidents pardoning Trump?”
Biden chuckled, waved and walked away.
“I see you,” he said over his shoulder. “Great question.”
DeSantis, the governor of Florida and a rival to Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, said last week he would look at “any instance of unfavorable treatment” as he contemplates a pardon on “the first day” of his presidency.
“I will have people come together and look at all these things… people (who are) victims of weaponization or political targeting, and we will be aggressive in granting pardons,” he said when asked about the possibility of pardoned the former president and the January 6 rioters who attempted to block the certification of the 2020 election.
