The White House received backlash Saturday after it was reported that Hunter Biden accompanied his father to Camp David amid whistleblower allegations of political corruption, along with recently pleading guilty to federal tax charges and agreeing to a gun indictment plea.
The House Ways and Means Committee on Thursday revealed its interview with an IRS whistleblower last month who shared a 2017 WhatsApp message in which Hunter Biden reportedly told a Chinese business associate that he and his father would make sure “you’ll regret it.” not follow my instructions.”
“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the agreement that was made has not been fulfilled,” Hunter Biden told Henry Zhao, the director of Harvest Fund Management, in the message from IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley. “And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang or the chairman, I will make sure that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to always holding a grudge that you will regret if you don’t follow my directions.”

Conservatives took to Twitter to point out the short timing of the revelations and father and son’s journey to Camp David together.
“This week, federal government whistleblowers allege massive DOJ/FBI corrupt obstruction to protect the Hunter and Biden family,” tweeted Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch. “And a plea deal from the Biden regime with Hunter has been announced. Joe Biden’s answer? Take Hunter to WH for a state dinner and then take him to Camp David for the weekend.”

“COLLUSION: Hunter and Joe Biden retreated to Camp David with their lawyers for the weekend,” @amuse, a prominent Substack writer, tweeted. “Is Biden Throwing His Son Overboard To Save His Presidency?”
“Many things to discuss?” Steve Guest, a GOP communicator, tweeted.
“Great. Taking a tax evader and gun criminal on a journey where he will cover high level international events,” tweeted Washington Free Beacon reporter Chuck Ross. “But also, is Hunter living with Joe now or something?”
“Strange to go to Camp David for such a short time,” New York Post columnist Miranda Devine tweeted. “Perhaps to have confidential conversations with unknown legal advisers in a heavily guarded place away from prying eyes.”
President Biden has consistently claimed that he never talks to his son about foreign business deals, despite accumulating evidence that he has met with more than a dozen of Hunter Biden’s business associates.
The whistleblower’s testimony was revealed two days after Hunter Biden entered into an agreement with his father’s Justice Department to plead guilty to two felony counts of failing to pay federal income taxes on at least $3 million he earned from foreign business deals. He also agreed to enter into a preliminary diversion agreement regarding a separate charge of possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance.

“True to form, Biden leaves the White House for his weekend at Camp David despite the unrest in Russia,” journalist Charlie Spiering tweeted. “Hunter Biden also saw him get on Marine One with him.”
In addition to accompanying his father to Camp David, he was also a guest at the White House state dinner for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his wife on Thursday night. Footage showed Hunter Biden rubbing the elbows of prominent guests.

When pressed on Friday that Hunter was a guest, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, “I just don’t get into family discussions, personal family discussions.”
“As you know, Hunter is his son,” she added. “I’m just not going to get into that.”
The White House did not respond to a request for comment.
