STOCKHOLM (Reuters) – Elon Musk and Linda Yaccarino, Twitter’s chief executive officer, unveiled a logo for the social media platform on Monday featuring a white “X” on a black background replacing the familiar blue bird symbol.
“X is here! Let’s do this,” Yaccarino tweeted, also posting a photo of the logo projected at the company’s San Francisco offices.
Both Yaccarino’s and Musk’s Twitter handles feature the X logo, though the blue Twitter bird is still visible across the platform.
Musk said in a post on Sunday that he wanted to change Twitter’s logo and asked his millions of followers if they would change the site’s color scheme from blue to black.
He posted a photo of a stylized X against a black background with a space theme. He also referred to the “interim X logo”.
Yaccarino, the former advertising chief at NBCUniversal who took over as CEO of Twitter on June 5, has taken over as the social media platform tried to reverse a dip in ad revenue.
