You don’t have to worry about Joe Biden hating Britain because nobody cares about the US presidency anymore. It’s an uncomfortable truth to face, but the Commander-in-Chief has become an international laughing stock, diminishing the White House’s stature on the world stage.
As if it wasn’t bad enough that for the past four days he’s been muttering and bumbling through a completely selfish tour of Irelandoverseen by Sleepy Joe, a new world order seems to be busily taking advantage of his ineptitude.
We now have Saudi Arabia making deals with the Iranians and Chinese, while Emmanuel Macronthe French president, humiliatingly pursues Xi Jinping.
Meanwhile, Lula da Silva, Brazil’s president, was in Beijing on Friday to call on developing countries to work to replace the US dollar with their own currencies in international trade — a move that will only help China’s quest for dominance over global trade. but would strengthen. So I would humbly suggest that what Biden thinks about the UK is the least of the world’s worries. You could say that even the Irish don’t care that much about him. Many can see through his exaggerated connections in a country that has evolved considerably beyond that in his green-tinted imagination. In addition, he has said some downright insulting things about the nation, such as, “I may be Irish, but I’m not stupid.”
Back in his home country, polls last year showed that 70 percent of Americans did not want Biden to run for a second term. And yet the aging US president is so misguided that he recently told NBC he would be back in business — but was waiting for an official announcement. eh?
It seems that the only reason he took what one American journalist described as a “taxpayer-funded family reunion” is to strengthen his Irish voice in the United States. We should let him run his campaign and focus on our own national interests.
