California sheriff sergeant shot in fuel station firefight

A San Bernardo County Sheriff’s sergeant was shot twice Friday afternoon following a lethal shootout with a suspect at a fuel station in Victorville, California, authorities confirmed. 

The 16-year veteran was shot in his thigh and shin and is predicted to outlive. 

“I am happy to announce there aren’t going to be life-threatening accidents and our sergeant’s going to get better absolutely from this,” San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus advised reporters in a Friday night press briefing.

The capturing occurred at a fuel station on Bear Valley Highway in Victorville. (Google Maps)

He stated the sergeant was sporting a physique digital camera through the shootout and there may be surveillance footage on the fuel station investigators will look by. 

The suspect started firing on the sergeant after officers responded to the scene over reviews of a person threatening a lady with a gun.

The sergeant, who has not been recognized, fired again on the suspect, killing him, Dicus stated.
