Carlos Pineda, candidate for the Presidency for the Prosperidad Ciudadana party, revealed this Wednesday, April 12, the existence of an alleged plan to assassinate him and offered a reward for those who support him in locating and capturing the hitmen who, according to him, were hired. in Peten.
Pineda revealed the alleged plan on social networks, where he also said that he had filed a complaint with the Public Ministry (MP) and that from now on he will increase his protection measures, even with armored vehicles.
“Well, what I feared so much arrived. I found out that they already ordered me to be killed, I found out from a good source and from three different genuine sources that they hired a group of hit men from San Andrés, Petén, led by a certain Patrona, from Sayaxché, (…) and hired them to to kill me, I have never had enemies, but I see that now I already have them, and that is because I am touching the pocket of corruption of many powerful people,” Pineda said in a post on his social networks.
The politician added that “they are already finding out who it was who gave the order to kill me, they took away my peace, because I don’t like hanging out with people, I don’t like riding in armored cars (…) but today they are going to meet me . I am going to equip myself with all the respect that all my followers and all the honorable people of Guatemala deserve, now they are going to see me equipped, with security and in armored cars and here I will be waiting for them”.
In addition, he pointed out that “it could have been a political family, it could have been a political candidate or a corrupt party. And from now on, as it is a proposal of my work plan to offer rewards from the Ministry of the Interior (…) from now on I am going to demonstrate it, I am offering Q300 thousand for those who give me more information and help me capture these scoundrels ”.
He assures that he has already filed the complaint with the Public Ministry and that he already has people investigating the case at a private level.
