The Federal Aviation Administration says a Delta Airbus A350 and an Endeavor Bombardier CRJ900 jet clipped one another Tuesday morning on the tarmac at an Atlanta airport.
The FAA mentioned in an announcement to Fox Information Digital that “whereas Delta Air Traces Flight 295 was taxiing for departure at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Worldwide Airport, its wingtip struck the tail of Endeavor Air Flight 5526.”
“The Delta Airbus A350 was headed to Tokyo. The Endeavor Bombardier CRJ900 was headed to Lafayette, Louisiana,” the company added. “The FAA will examine the incident, which occurred on the intersection of two taxiways round 10:10 a.m. native time on Tuesday, Sept. 10.”
Pictures being posted on social media present heavy harm to the tail of one of many planes, whose vertical stabilizer seems to have been severed from the plane.

“Properly that was terrifying. Taxiing out for the flight from Atlanta to Louisiana and one other airplane seems to have clipped the again of our airplane,” WFTS Meteorologist Jason Adams posted on X. “Very jarring, steel scraping sounds then loud bangs. We’re positive. No hearth or smoke.”

Delta mentioned in its personal assertion that “the wing of an Airbus A350 taxiing out as DL295 from Atlanta to Tokyo-Haneda made contact with the tail of an Endeavor Air CRJ-900, DL5526 to LaFayette, Louisiana, on an adjoining taxiway, leading to harm to the tail of the regional jet and the wing of the A350.
“There have been no reported accidents right now and clients are being transported again to the terminal the place they are going to be reaccommodated on alternate flights,” the airline mentioned. “There have been 221 clients on DL295 and 56 clients on DL5526. Presently, no extra operational changes are anticipated. “
