The nationalist deputy Marco Midence attacked the government of President Xiomara Castro for the lack of responses to the constant power blackouts reported in Honduras.
In a video in which he can be seen lighting a candle, the parliamentarian assures that “this is what we are going towards, towards eternal darkness. The power goes out every day.”
The parliamentarian considers that the energy crisis is “thanks to these useless and inoperative people who could not foresee these blackouts and it is getting worse,” lamented Midence, who also served as Finance Minister in the Government of Juan Orlando Hernández on August 20, 2020. to May 25, 2021.
In addition, in the post Midence continues: “Due to the inability of this government, the crisis of blackouts is coming day and night, affecting homes, businesses and they are just excuses and more excuses.”
This crisis is due to “the lack of planning to cover the energy deficit requires serious and concrete actions”, mentions the deputy.
It should be noted that President Castro asked on Saturday -June 3- that they stop “initiating political campaigns” on the issue of the energy crisis that the country is experiencing.
“Starting internal political campaigns only divide. We know that we are facing severe energy rationing due to low water levels in dams and unavailability of thermal plants, precarious ENEE conditions and the moribund EEH contract is untimely, premature and unfortunate,” Castro wrote on Twitter.
Residents of the 18 departments of the country assure that they spend up to two days without electricity and the authorities do not give them an answer for the damages caused by this.
So far, the energy authorities have not provided further details of what is happening, they only ensure that there is a large deficit that can only be replenished by suspending service for a few hours.
