Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took a success at California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom following their debate, saying conservatives will not be gaslit into pondering liberal insurance policies are working.
DeSantis, a GOP presidential hopeful, made the feedback throughout a marketing campaign rally Saturday in Sioux Metropolis, Iowa.
“And one of many issues I believe, it is like what the left is making an attempt to do to this nation, what folks within the media are serving to them do, is they’re simply making an attempt to misinform the general public about nearly every little thing that is occurring,” DeSantis stated. “When that White Home press secretary goes to that podium and tells you that the border is safe, they assume you are silly. They’re prepared to say something.”
DeSantis then referred again to his debate between Newsom on Thursday, saying the California chief lied about his personal insurance policies.

“When [Newsom] was on the stage with me saying Biden is a superb president and he is clicking on all cylinders, that was a lie, we all know that was a lie. When he says that California has decrease taxes than Florida, I imply, not solely is {that a} lie, even the those who like what is going on on in California acknowledge that one of many costs you pay of dwelling there may be you pay increased taxes than elsewhere,” DeSantis stated.

Throughout Thursday evening’s debate, Newsom claimed that Florida taxes decrease earnings employees greater than California taxes millionaires.
“He has probably the most regressive tax charges in america, America’s quantity three, most regressive state in America. And what meaning is just this – Who does he tax? He taxes low earnings employees greater than we tax millionaires and billionaires within the state of California,” Newsom stated.
DeSantis responded, saying folks do not transfer from Florida to California to pay much less in taxes.
