The opposition continues to blame the deep defeat in the May 14 elections on the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Invited this Friday to “Top Talk”, although he admits that the opposition must bear responsibility, Luan Baçi says that the government intimidated the democrats not to vote. According to him, the polling stations of the Democrats were changed, while the Socialists were protected in the elections by the police and patronageists themselves. Ervin Bushati was involved in the debate, who asked why the opposition does not produce the evidence, but only hints.
Meanwhile, the democrat said that the opposition could not unite since the two former chief democrats Lulzim Basha and Enkelejd Alibeaj were bought by the chief socialist Edi Rama.
The debate between Bushat and Baç:
Baçi: No one says that the opposition has no responsibility and we were perfect. We accept and know full well that we must review ourselves first. But when we say rejection and when we say non-participation in the elections, be sure that this is not the truth. The truth has many truths in it. It is true of many voters that their polling station was changed. There were thousands of such voters and they did not participate in the voting. We have depopulation that DP has been raising this problem for years. It is a mass exodus of citizens and the majority are democrats. Besides the Prime Minister’s call to justify this non-participation in the elections, of many Democrats who went to the VC and did not find their name and did not go to another VC, it was prematurely accompanied by his call not to participate in the voting.
A prime minister who tells his citizens not to go out to vote, only Edi Rama has done such a thing. Seen from this point of view, it is not a rejection of the democrats’ vote against the DP, but barriers that have been put to Albanian citizens and voters by this majority. Pressure, blackmail, were present.
Xhokaxhi: How will you prove these?
Baçi: There are many facts and evidence, videos and photographs that were taken by our observers.
Bushati: We are in the time of instant reality. No video has been released. If there was so much evidence, how come no one came out?
Baçi: You are right, in fact, that you were very organized and guarded, that you were guarded by both the police and patronageists. You did the actions in complete secrecy. Anyway, citizen opinion is full, Mr. Bushati, and all citizens know the way you did this campaign, they know the way it was voted. They know how you got those municipalities. Citizens know the truth as it is. Verifications will be done step by step. You must bear in mind that the opposition is in a precarious position, it has neither offices nor other means. These difficulties come to us as a result of the pressure of power.
Xhokaxhi: If you were clear from the beginning that Rama was working to split the DP, why didn’t you allow it?
Baçi: We couldn’t tell Lulzim and Enkelejd to come here, because they depend on Edi Rama. They are still continuing their mission today. Rama gave them the commissioners. DP funds took them. The opposition was in the most unfavorable conditions it has ever been in these 32 years. For me, it is a success that the Democratic Party was able to enter the system, because it wanted to maintain a false opposition.
