Drexel College president reacts after 75 protesters descended onto campus

A bunch of at the least 75 anti-Israel agitators staged an encampment at Drexel College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday night.

In accordance to an announcement by Drexel College President John Fry, 75 pro-Palestinian protesters arrange an encampment on campus on the Korman Quad on Saturday night.

Fry stated the people participated within the Philly Palestine Coalition’s Nakba Day march to name for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The president stated that encampment raised “comprehensible issues” about security on campus.

“There have been many well-documented situations of hateful speech and intimidating conduct at different campus demonstrations,” Fry stated.

Drexel Police Public Security is monitoring the encampment to “make sure that it’s peaceable and non-disruptive” and that members “will behave respectfully towards each other,” Fry stated.

“We can be ready to reply rapidly to any disruptive or threatening conduct by anybody,” Fry stated.

The president of the Philadelphia college reiterated that they might “not tolerate” campus destruction, harassment or intimidation of scholars, school or employees and any speech that’s “explicitly racist, antisemitic, or Islamophobic.”

“Nor will we enable anybody who is just not a member of the Drexel neighborhood to trespass into our buildings and scholar residences,” Fry stated.

Drexel College’s Public Security stated that each one buildings are on lockdown and open solely to these with clearance.
