Drugs – An ugly and temporary escape from reality

People who use drugs to cope with life do so because of what the drugs do to them. Most drug addicts have experienced pain from something that happened to them in the past and the drugs have made that pain go away for a short time. Once they realize that the drugs actually make them feel better, the abuse starts to happen.

Most drugs are good at taking reality out of the user’s mind. They feel free once the drugs start to work. They don’t care about the past or any of that pain that has haunted them and they feel invincible in the moment. The only problem is that every time the addict takes the drug, he or she has to do even more to get the same feeling.

What drug users don’t understand is that the drugs don’t take away the problem, they only make it worse. The reality of life never goes away, it is just masked and distorted by the effect the drugs have. To get over this life of pain and hurt, don’t turn to drugs for relief, but take life to the fullest. And this is what the rehab centers do so well.

Drug rehabilitation centers exist to help the addict overcome their physical addiction to the drug or drugs. They then limit themselves to the individual only to learn that the drugs are not, in fact, their best escape, but merely a temporary release that exacerbates their own situation at worst. Real relief from the pain that haunts them is seeing the past for what it really is, something that has happened before and is now beyond anyone’s control. Once they realize that they can’t change something that happened, they can learn to live from now on.

The purpose of the drug rehabilitation centers is to educate the addict about their illness so that they can understand how to control their mind and eventually learn to lead a productive life. They hope to give them confidence that whatever goal they set out to achieve can be achieved regardless of their situation or where they come from.

Drugs are an ugly escape from reality that make the user feel invincible for a short time. Drug addicts can also change, but they must first get to know their situation and then want to make the change.
