The Guatemalan National Team squad left this Tuesday from La Aurora International Airport for Mexico, to play the first of their four friendly matches before the Gold Cup.

Those led by coach Luis Fernando Tena have started a tour with high-level rivals, to complete their preparation for the 2023 Gold Cup, which will be played from June 24 to July 16.

Guatemala and Mexico will collide at the El Kraken Stadium, in Mazatlán. This will be the first game that the Tri will play in the colossus of Sinaloa.

The Bicolor traveled with full equipment. Defender Gerardo Gordillo, a player for Brazil’s Esporte Clube Juventude, joined the camp on Monday.

La Sele has the field recognition scheduled for today at 7:00 p.m., one day before the duel against the Mexicans is played.

Concentration

The Mexican soccer team began the concentration on Monday to face Guatemala this Wednesday in a friendly match in Mazatlán, in the Pacific of Mexico.

Argentine Diego Cocca, Mexico coach, conducted the first training session with the group minutes after they met at the High Performance Center in Mexico City.

In practice, Cocca ordered ball and physical exercises for the elements, which are mostly from the local league.

Against Guatemala, Mexico will prepare to face the United States in the semifinals of the Concacaf Nations League on June 15, and for the Gold Cup, in which it will debut on June 25 against Honduras.
