The counting of ballots in Rrogozhin is expected to start at 11:00 p.m., after the delivery of the boxes to the “Haxhi Qehaj” gymnasium.
The citizens of Rrogozhina went to the ballot boxes this Sunday from 07:00 in the morning to re-elect the Mayor.
The turnout is higher than on May 14, where the total turnout was 32.02%, while this figure was exceeded today at 2:00 p.m.
According to the CEC, until 18:00 the total participation was 35.50%.
Only one incident was noted, where a citizen took a photo of the vote, an action which was recorded with a verbal process. During the day, as a result of the high temperatures, an operator lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital.
The elections in the municipality of Rrogozhina were decided to be repeated by the Central Election Commission, after the result of May 14 was declared invalid.
The reason for the repeat election was the prison box, and the difference between the two candidates was only 21 votes, while the number of prisoners was more than 100. Unlike on May 14, the prisoners were not allowed to vote today due to time limits.
The candidates in the race are the same as on May 14, Edison Memollaj from the Socialist Party and Shkëlqim Hoxha from the “Together We Win” coalition.
