The U17 national team will start gathering today as part of the preparations for the Elite Round phase of the European Championship of this age group.
The UEFA draw has placed Albania in Group 8 along with France, Switzerland and Latvia. The matches of this phase will be played in our country in March 2023.
Coach Ervin Bulku has announced today the list of 25 invited players for these very important official challenges. The core of the team is almost the same as the one that managed to secure qualification in the qualifiers played last year. Meanwhile, the technical staff was able to introduce some new elements, which they tested in the last friendly matches (Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy).
The new names coming from abroad are Muhadin Sulejmani, Frederik Tosku, Klejdi Marinaj, Kleo Shpuza and Ron Hasani. In the list there are also some players approached from the Albanian championship. Meanwhile, Hasan and Sulejmani are expected to be equipped with Albanian passports in the coming days.
The U17 national team will gather at the Tropikal complex in Durrës, where they will perform the final preparations before the official matches. The six group matches will be played in Albania, at the “Air Albania” and “Elbasan Arena” stadiums.
France-Albania will be played on March 22 at “Air Albania” (11:30). On the same day, Latvia-Switzerland will be played in “Elbasan Arena” (15:30). The second matches will be played on March 25. France-Latvia (11:30) at “Elbasan Arena” and Switzerland-Albania at “Air Albania” (17:00).
The third and final matches will be played on March 28. Both at 5:00 p.m. Albania-Latvia will be played at “Air Albania”, while Switzerland-France will take place at “Elbasan Arena”.
If Albania U17 will be able to qualify for the finals of the European U17, it will be a major success for an Albanian national team of all ages. Below, the list with the names of the players invited to the U17 National Team:
