The former senator met with the main businessmen and spoke to them about deepening the construction of consensus.
Several of the members of the powerful Argentine Business Association (AEA) met today with former senator Esteban Bullrich, who gave them a presentation of his proposal for a new agreement for “national harmony.”
Bullrich has already met with the CGT, the UIA and the social movements based on that 12-point proposal.
From AEA, its president Jaime Campos thanked the former Senator for his visit and stressed: “Undoubtedly, deepening the construction of consensus will contribute to the economic and social development of Argentina.” Campos affirmed that the points proposed for the Agreement are shared by the AEA.
They agreed on the need to respect “the Institutions of the Republic enshrined in the National Constitution, the division of powers and the recognition of the independence of the Judiciary,” according to a statement from the entity. It was also shared that “clear and stable rules of the game over time are a key element for our country to return to the path of growth.”
The businessmen spoke of the need to attack the scourge of high inflation, put an end to permanent deficits in public accounts, have a respected domestic currency, reduce the high and distorted tax burden on the formal sector, have only one type of change for economic activities, and avoid other current anomalies that prevent the full mobilization of the energies of the private sector.
Jorge Aufiero (Medicus), Charlie Blaquier (Ledesma), Mariano Bosch (Adecoagro), Federico Braun (La Anonymous), Martin Castelli (All Fashion), Claudio Cunha (Edesur), Eduardo Elsztain (Irsa), Julio Figueroa were present at the meeting (Citibank), Ignacio Lartirigoyen (Lartirigoyen & Co.), Maria Luisa Macchiavello (Southern Pharmacy), Amadeo Vazquez (Consultant), Gustavo Salinas (Toyota) and Guadalupe Mazulo (AEA).
