“We are considering every available option for the City of Bangor” to challenge the trial’s result, John Gillooly told The Associated Press.
A Michigan police officer who claims he was wrongfully fired after reporting alleged sexual harassment by his superior was awarded $1.2 million by a jury.
Bangor, with a population of 1,900, is located in Southwestern Michigan’s Van Buren County.
Misane told federal court jurors that he was fired in 2021 over sexual harassment complaints about Tommy Simpson, the Bangor city manager who was also police chief. Simpson denied the allegations.
