Recent facts from Kayak reveals that searches for international and domestic travel among Canadians have increased significantly, accompanied by 33 percent higher flight prices.
The platform matched the data based on online searches for flights, rental cars and hotels. Kayaking data shows that, despite flight prices rising by up to 33 percent year-on-year, searches for flights are up 77 percent compared to last summer.
According to the data, searches for flights are up 90 percent, while domestic travel is up 22 percent.
Data also shows a notable increase in searches for hotels and cars. Searches for hotels are up 58 percent, while searches for cars for international destinations are up 59 percent compared to last summer.
Data shows that daily car rental rates are down 13 percent compared to last year, but flights and hotels have seen increases of 33 percent and 11 percent, respectively.
The data highlights the growing enthusiasm and willingness of individuals to embark on their travel adventures to Europe. According to Kayak, Europe has seen a 113 percent flight interest since last summer, making it the most popular region to travel to.
Asia is also one of the most popular international summer destinations with a 100 percent increase in fight searches.
Kayak recommends that travelers book their flights in advance to have a better chance of finding a cheap ticket and leaving before prices rise.
