Florida authorities have arrested a pet proprietor after a canine tied to a submit for hours was later discovered lifeless, officers mentioned.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned deputies obtained a name on July 11 after the caller seen a pit bull tied to a submit outdoors within the scorching summer time warmth. Deputies got here to the home on Edison Avenue in Fort Myers and located the animal lifeless. They then arrested the canine’s proprietor, 34-year-old Jade Inexperienced.
Detectives from the Animal Cruelty Activity Drive launched an investigation and located the canine, a 5-year-old pit bull combine named Los, had been tied to a submit within the yard for hours with out meals, water or shelter, authorities mentioned.

“I’m sickened that yet one more defenseless animal has been killed as a result of proprietor’s incompetence,” Sheriff Carmine Marceno mentioned in a press release. “We’ll at all times defend those that can’t defend themselves.”
Lee County deputies mentioned the canine’s thermometer readings registered a floor temperature of 104 F. An inner temperature was too excessive to measure, they mentioned.

Officers from the Lee County Home Animal Companies mentioned that they had taken the canine’s physique into custody to carry out an post-mortem.
