Florida dive team finds human bones in car

A Florida dive and recovery team on Friday assisted a sheriff’s office in pulling a car from a retention pond. The vehicle, which belonged to a man who has been missing since 2006, contained human bones.

Robert Helphrey went missing on May 22, 2006, when he was supposed to meet a friend at a house near Peggy O’Neils Iris Pub in Palm Harbor, Florida, according to FOS 13.

Helphrey was spotted in Peggy O’Neil’s Iris Pub and told his friend he would come over eventually, but he never made it.

Helphrey disappeared along with his car.

The human remains found in the car have not yet been identified.
