Household and buddies are mourning the lack of a music legend.

R&B singer Frankie Beverly, the founding father of the funk and soul band Maze, has died on the age of 77.

The household of the musician, whose delivery title was Howard Stanley Beverly, shared the information in an Instagram put up the day after his demise.

“He lived his life with pure soul as one would say, and for us, nobody did it higher. He lived for his music, household and buddies,” the Beverly household shared in a Sept. 11 messages. “Grieving the lack of a liked one is a deeply private and emotional expertise. Throughout this time, as we’re navigating emotions of sorrow, reflection, and remembrance, we kindly ask for privateness and understanding, permitting us the house to grieve in our personal method.”

Noting that they need to “honor the reminiscence of our beloved Howard Stanley Beverly,” the household requested that followers, “Love each other as he would need that for us all.”
