Dritan Çelaj is a special case coming from the field of business, in the world of art, considering this passion as the other important part of his life, for which he finds the most intimate time and space to express himself.
Since the year 2000, when he started creating, Çelaj has created more than 400 paintings, mainly practicing expressionism with the oil technique. What characterizes his paintings is the positive energy, the freshness that comes as a result of the cold colors he uses. There are portraits often treated with a kind of fragility that characterizes the artist’s generally intuitive work.
With these works, he has just opened an exhibition in the Gallery of Tirana.
“Allow Colors” comes as an account of his experiences within the transition of Albanian society. His artistic research goes through the landscape and human nature, addressing all its complexity. Although every period has shown that a work of art comes to life when it leaves the studio, Dritan Çelaj has chosen to keep his works unexhibited for years, not allowing the public to closely follow them.
This is Dritan Çelaj’s first step towards the public, who, recognizing him as a personality in the business field, in addition to kindness, has also shown curiosity or appreciation for his creativity, which we can now follow closely.
