Far from being specialists in the world of technology, the deputy who is seeking the Buenos Aires Head of Government and the senator who wants to be Mendoza governor included those advances in their electoral campaigns.

That technology advances by leaps and bounds every day is not a novelty. For quite some time now, thousands of new alternatives frequently appear with the aim of improving people’s daily lives. However, what can be considered an innovation is the collateral effect that they produced in other areas, for example, in politics. And proof of this is the decision of Ricardo López Murphy and Alfredo Cornejo to join the new “Campaigns 3.0”.

The former Minister of Economy, who will go in search of the Government Headquarters of the City of Buenos Aires within Together for Change, decided to join a supposed fashion of people who use artificial intelligence to generate portraits of different themes.

“I saw that now everyone has their portrait made with Artificial Intelligence and these were my results… Which one do they choose?” Wrote the deputy, in a post that could be the product of a mere moment of relaxation as well as an attempt to get closer to certain section of the electorate.

On his Twitter account, López Murphy revealed the intervention that science carried out on his face and published four images: two of them present realistic versions of his face, and the rest are animated. One of the latter, in fact, shows a bulldog dog, a breed with which he even dared to joke about a similarity between the two a few years ago, in another post on that social network.

Alfredo Cornejo’s video game

For his part, the candidate for governor from Mendoza Alfredo Cornejo also included technology in his campaign. Last Monday, the senator from Cambia Mendoza brought to light a video game with the intention that the voters of that province become familiar with the Single Ballot system that will debut in the seven departments where the elections were unfolded, to carry out the 30 of this month.

The game, of course, is free and accessible to anyone with internet access. There, users will be able to simulate the moment they will go through both on that date, when municipal positions will begin to be put into play, and on June 11, when the PASO will be carried out at provincial posts.

Cornejo’s video game puts the electorate in front of the Single Ballot system that will debut in Mendoza in the 2023 elections.

After a brief playful space until reaching the virtual and simulated voting establishment, the modality that the voters will use in reality will come into action. They will face three options: choose the entire list of a certain party, lean towards a single candidate for mayor and a list of councillors, or vote blank, for which no alternative should be pressed.

It is, among other things, a move that Cornejo launched to deal with the ignorance that is reflected in part of the Mendoza population about an unprecedented system in the province, as well as to try to bring water to his mill in the framework of the contest that he will maintain, among others, with Omar De Marchi, national deputy for the Pro who will compete outside the Cambia Mendoza coalition.

The unusual spot of a candidate from Tucumán: that everyone can “shit in a decent bathroom”

Enrique Lazarte, candidate for mayor of Tafí Viejo for the Frente de Todos, assured that if he wins he will launch “the decent bathrooms program” so that, according to him, “everyone” has “the possibility of shitting in decent bathrooms.”

In an unusual campaign spot, the Tucuman leader, close to Governor Juan Manzur, promised to build a thousand toilets in that town in the interior of the province as one of his first measures if he is elected mayor.

“The mayor doesn’t have that problem, but he must have been part of the solution in these last eight years,” Lazarte launched while a short shot showed his feet in the mud and in the next pan a toilet in very poor condition located on the ground and surrounded by plates.

In addition, while walking through the mud and approaching a precarious house, he added: “Surely the mayor and his wife have a place to go shit and it must be very nice.”
