An employee of a Kellogg’s Bakery in Rome, Georgia, has been arrested, according to police, after allegedly shooting and killing a colleague in the factory parking lot during a dispute.
Dekembe Devion Smith, 29, was charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm while committing a felony for the murder of Keion Tyjuan Harper, 26, Rome police said in a press release.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at Kellogg’s factory on Old Lindale Road in Rome around 10:45 p.m. Monday night. They arrived at the scene and found Harper wounded from the shooting. Officers tried to help the victim until emergency services arrived.

Harper was later pronounced dead, police said.
Smith had called 911 after the altercation to report that he had shot Harper. He told officials that the two of them were in the parking lot when they started fighting, and that it had nothing to do with the company that employed them.
