Georgia police are beefing up the safety presence at faculties throughout Barrow County as college students are set to return to courses this week following the Apalachee Excessive College capturing.
Courses are set to renew on Tuesday, although college directors say college students who aren’t able to return don’t have to. District Superintendent Dallas LeDuff confirmed the elevated police presence in an announcement final week.
“We imagine we must be collectively as quickly as doable to maneuver ahead and to supply some sense of familiarity for our college students,” LeDuff stated in an announcement.
“We all know these are difficult occasions, and we’re right here for you,” he added. “We can have additional assist and safety, together with extra legislation enforcement, at every of our faculties.”
