Republican presidential nominee Vivek Ramaswamy on Wednesday slammed the World Economic Forum (WEF) with a lawsuit in a court in Cincinnati, Ohio for “creating a false perception” that he is connected to the organization.

According to Ramaswamy’s campaign, the WEF named him one of the “Young Global Leaders”, despite declining the group’s invitation to be included on the list, then failed to remove him after being repeatedly asked to do so.

“The World Economic Forum’s mission to achieve global ‘equality’ poses a serious threat to the American way of life,” Ramaswamy said in a statement. “Our Founding Fathers fought the American Revolution to declare independence from the Old World Monarchy. That ancient monster is now resurfacing in the form of WEF’s agendas, including stakeholder capitalism and the Great Reset.”

“That’s why I’ve been one of the most vociferous crusaders in America against WEF, and I’m filing this lawsuit to hold them accountable for creating the false illusion of belonging to undermine their opponents – so they don’t do it again to others,” he added.

Ramaswamy’s campaign said the WEF’s decision to list his name and image “created a false public impression that served the WEF’s goals while undermining Mr. Ramaswamy’s staunch public advocacy against the WEF’s globalist agenda .”

The effort to distance his name from the WEF is consistent with other conservatives’ criticism of the organization as elitist and aloof.

A potential opponent of Ramaswamy, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis railed against the WEF in his inaugural address in January, continuing his longstanding criticism of world leaders who attended the annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, aiming at to come up with global solutions to problems facing the planet, including climate change, economic problems and global conflicts.
