Irrevocably, Pedro Barquero resigned from the ownership of the Ministry of Economic Development this Monday, April 24, from early hours of the day.
The news was confirmed within the same Presidential House by the Minister of the Presidency, Rodolfo Pastorwho said that Barquero had filed his resignation.
After learning about the resignation, the now former head of Economic Development spoke of his decision in the news TN5 and accepted that not taking it into account for the new Tax Justice Law led him to say goodbye.
“I have never withdrawn from the party (PSH), but I have stopped being active due to my role in the government. I don’t know if I will continue in politics and I do believe that many good things can be done for the country from civil society, if I decide to continue in politics it would be from civil society”, he began counting.
The businessman added that there were constant disagreements with members of the government cabinet and for this reason he could not continue.
“I filed my resignation as of April 24. I am leaving satisfied because I did what they let me do, I feel that the way in which decisions are being made is not compatible with the way in which I look at the economy and other aspects, the opinion of sectors such as the private company to make decisions based on impacts”.
Regarding the Tax Justice Law, he added that “this bill that will be presented to Congress eliminates regimes that have worked well for years, experiments are being carried out to introduce new regimes that you do not know if they will work for you or not.”
“There have been differences from the beginning, the issue of the Tax Justice Law may have too much importance in the country with its impact and that is one of the reasons,” he added regarding the regulations created by the Revenue Administration Service ( SAR) that will be sent to the National Congress.
