Greene, Gaetz shooting at presidential candidate Nikki Haley

Republican Delegates Marjorie Taylor Greene, Georgia, and Matt Gaetz, Florida, participated in former President Trump’s first official campaign rally on Saturday and took turns clapping at presidential nominee Nikki Haley.

The rally was in Waco, Texas, during the 30th anniversary of the federal agents setting fire to the property of the Branch Davidians religious sect. The siege by the federal police killed more than 80 people, including nearly 30 children. But Trump’s team says the meeting’s location and timing have nothing to do with the siege.

Greene and Gaetz, who are both allies of Trump, made remarks in support of the former president at the rally on Saturday.

The reps both attacked Haley, a former South Carolina governor and former United Nations ambassador under Trump, for her foreign policy agenda, while also questioning whether she is a serious presidential candidate.

The Georgia congressman denounced Haley as a legitimate presidential opponent of Trump, saying no one has a “list of names” like the former president to “clean up the swamp.”

Here’s what we know about President Trump,” she said in an interview with conservative outlet Right Side Broadcasting Network. “President Trump has a list of names, and no one else has. Ron DeSantis doesn’t have that. Nikki Haley, or whoever she is, she’s got nothing like that. swamp like President Trump.”

Greene’s dig at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis comes despite not announcing a candidacy for president, though he is expected to enter the race in the coming months. Trump has repeatedly attacked Florida’s governor, widely regarded as the ex-president’s biggest threat to the 2024 GOP nomination.

TRUMP WELCOMES NIKKI HALEY TO THE 2024 RACE: THE MORE, THE MERRIER’

In Gaetz’s speech directed at Haley, he mocked her earlier comments in a campaign video where she said, “I don’t tolerate bullies. And when you kick back, it hurts them more when you wear heels.”

“Nikki Haley says we should kick all the bullies in the world with heels,” Gaetz said at the rally. “But we can’t kick and scream around the world and start new wars behind every sand dune in the Middle East like Nikki Haley wants us to do.”

“So Nikki Haley can keep clicking her heels,” he continued. “What we know is that President Donald Trump will bring America’s enemies to heel.”

And while Trump has stepped up his attacks on DeSantis in recent months, he hasn’t taken the same approach toward Haley, whom he welcomed into the presidential race last month by saying “the more the merrier.”

“I’m glad she’s running,” Trump told FOX News Digital at the time. “I want her to follow her heart, even though she has promised she will never run against who she called the greatest president of her life.”

Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has also stated that he is running for president and other Republicans are considering a run for the White House, including DeSantis, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former Vice President Mike Pence.
