Invited this evening to “Top Story”, Grida Duma spoke about the situation within the Democratic Party, which again came out of the elections with a deep defeat.
The opposition candidates suffered a defeat against the socialist candidate Erjon Veliaj, which resulted in an advantage of about 60,000 votes.
Asked by the Veshaj twins who he would choose in the race for Tirana if he were in charge of the Democratic Party, Duma answered:
“I told Erjon Veliaj this when I had him, that today there is still no political figure with so many means to be fundamentally political to stand up to him. I would have strategically drawn a less political figure. Halim Kosova, despite the fact that the DP had lost the elections, as Rama called it in 2013, was prestigious in the race”.
Donald Veshaj: Why don’t we have this race now?
“Because, by making non-strategic decisions, when you leave the mandates, leave the municipalities in 2019, whatever you want to do, you cannot make victory horses that rely on great powers of the party”, replied Duma.
According to the moderator of “Top Story”, if it had the will, the right has the possibility to enter the race tomorrow:
“He can come in tomorrow if he wants. The capacities are there. The issue is who will be the formula of contractuality”.
