A man chased, beat and left a young thief, known in the neighborhood, in a garbage can, who, this Monday, stole his bicycle in the Buenos Aires town of José C. Paz.
The violent episode, which was filmed by witnesses, occurred in the afternoon while the owner of the vehicle was getting his hair cut and saw how “Monedita”, a 19-year-old marked in the area as a well-known punguist, passed by repeatedly of the bicycle that the man had left chained on the sidewalk.
As he suspected, the criminal took his loot from La Pampa and Sarmiento to a place far away from his potential pursuers.
However, hours later, the victim of the robbery went out to look for the perpetrator in the neighborhood and, upon finding him, decided to take justice into his own hands.
For nine blocks he gave him a ferocious beating, until the fight reached the door of a butcher shop with a garbage can at the door, which was the final scene of the violent reprisal for the theft.
Despite the futile defense attempt, and already very hurt, the attacker put it in the bin and continued to hit the thief who could hardly react among the waste of the basket. The blows caused fractures in his nose, an arm and a wrist.
The owner of the butcher shop told El Trece that the beating “was incredible” and sided with the man who reacted violently to the assault: “Justice was done because he saw that he stole his bicycle, he was acquainted with him, he followed him, he He hooked up and beat him up.”
As it turned out, the man who was the victim of the robbery justified his violent reaction by maintaining that the criminal had lied to him and “had told him that he had not stolen his bicycle.”
Other witnesses assured that the thief would have been accompanied by an accomplice, although he was not found.
“They knew each other because he lives two blocks from his house. They are known. He saw it go by twice, the second time with his bike. He beat her for nine blocks. She picked it up in a way that looked like she was going to smash it to the ground, but he put it inside the basket,” the butcher’s story continued.
Finally, he indicated that the police never showed up. “With the beating he received, he will not steal again for a long time,” said the merchant.

“He did not steal the bicycle, it was others who gave it to him to sell. Many times I told him not to get involved in these things, that the others sell what they steal, but he does not listen to me, ”said the shocked woman.
And he raised the difficulties with dealing with his son’s addiction: “Nobody gave me a hand, less now that he is of legal age. They told me that only he can decide to enter.”
