It happened last Thursday in El Palomar and the criminal forced an employee to assist him in picking up what he wanted to take. He escaped with an accomplice.
“At some point it’s going to happen to all of us,” says resigned Pablo, the owner of the Mimi bakery, located on Bergamini street, in El Palomar. The premises were robbed by a man who entered with a shotgun.
It happened last Thursday, around 7:30 p.m., in an area “where nobody passes, cars do not pass and that is why they have time to do these things,” the victim of the incident recounted in statements to the TN signal.
The security cameras of the “safe commercial corridor”, as the Municipality called the area, captured how a car parked a few meters from the premises and a man with a camouflaged jacket, a light-colored hood and a gray wool cap got out of it. He with his face uncovered and with a shotgun in hand, with which he cornered and intimidated the employees.
He took their cell phones and ordered them to stay to the side without doing anything, while he began to collect his loot.
“He took the collection that was nothing, the scale. The collection was 4 thousand pesos. The money was not painful. There was the scale and the cell phone of an employee… and the bad time that the employees had,” Paul detailed.
The last of the workers to realize what was happening was a man who was preparing a tray in the kitchen and was surprised to see the offender enter. Without resisting and without wanting it, the employee was of great help in the crime.
As shown by the videos of the interior of the store, which has a glass front, refrigerators against one of its walls, a long counter with merchandise ready to sell and shelves behind it with more products, the offender chose him to assist him.
He opened the cash register for him and handed him every bill there was. She was placing them in a bag and then helped him to disconnect and disassemble the electronic scale, which, between them, they introduced with difficulty inside a bag.
The offender came to find himself with both of his hands occupied and even with his weapon stored inside a coat, which also did not prevent him from continuing with his collection task.
“He was sure that the boys were not going to act and thanks to that he was also calm. It is a neighborhood where cars do not pass, nobody passes and they have time to do these things,” said the merchant.
As he left and after freeing his circumstantial assistant, he walked the last time around the counter from where, as he went, he was taking some food. “They were some cookies and I don’t know what,” Pablo comments nonchalantly.
“It was something very quiet and the boys were calm. We don’t really regret anything,” he added, while avoiding charging the municipality or the police, since it is “insecurity at the country level that we are experiencing.”
“Continue, it remains the same, it will happen to all of us,” he concluded between resigned and relieved because it was not a violent act, according to his point of view.
Outside the premises, an accomplice was waiting for the thief, with whom he escaped in the same vehicle in which they arrived, while the authorities, “who arrived immediately”, received the complaint and investigated details about what happened.
