By mistake, the pregnant woman, who lives in Catamarca, sent 55,000 pesos to a man who lives in Corrientes. The vital role of networks to reach a positive outcome.
A wrong number at the time of making a transfer determined that the 55,000 pesos that Paula Meneza had to allocate to cancel her cesarean section, would virtually cross the country from west to east, from Catamarca to Corrientes, and end up in the account of a man whom she did not know and who had nothing to do with the arrival of her son.
“On the 15th, due to an error in a Rapipago number, a deposit was made to Mr. Maciel Héctor Orlando de Itatí, the money was to cancel my cesarean section, with a lot of sacrifice he had collected,” said the woman who is waiting for the arrival of Isaías, her second son.
That was the beginning of a campaign on social networks. Despite their desperation, Paula and her husband made the right decision: they published the unfortunate situation in a Facebook community in Itatí, waiting for someone to know the wrong recipient of their money, which represented the last installment to be able to enable that procedure. surgical.
“Instead of putting 29 million, which is the initial number of my husband’s DNI, he put 27 million. The rest of the numbers were fine,” Meneza explained to Roberto Zorrilla, an Itateño journalist who, after hearing about the case, became directly involved in the search for Maciel, together with his colleague Esteban Brítez.
“Instead of placing 29 million, the initial number of my husband’s DNI, they placed 27 million,” the woman said about the error at the time of carrying out the operation.
The woman also told him that the due date “is close” and that they could not contact “Mr. Maciel” to get the money back.
Social networks did their job
After 72 hours in which everything was uncertainty and tears for Meneza, because he tried unsuccessfully to cancel the operation, the news about his search reached the eyes of the man from Corrientes, through Zorrilla’s Facebook account.
“When she found out through my publication what had happened, she immediately contacted the future mother to return the money, which she had no idea had been deposited. And it is that Maciel is a man of strong values founded on humility and above all honesty, ”the journalist from Itaté wrote on that social network.
In the same post, he published the video where Maciel is seen making the return of the money from his cell phone. “After corroborating the entire story and with the valuable help of colleague Britez, he returned every last peso that was not his,” he completed.
Already relieved after recovering her savings, Meneza thanked Maciel’s gesture in a Facebook group, which brings together people from the picturesque city located in the north of the province of Corrientes, on the banks of the Paraná River.
“By this means I want to wholeheartedly thank Mr. Héctor Orlando Maciel de Itatí who returned the money I sent by mistake, who is for me a totally honest person who deserves to be recognized!!!!!”, wrote the future mother .
