The lawyer of the cumbia singer 420 Elián Ángel Valenzuela, popularly known as L-Gante, resigned this Friday to his defense in the case in which he is detained for allegedly depriving two people of their liberty.

Consulted by Clarín, the lawyer Alejandro Cipolla maintained that he stepped aside because he considered that his cycle as a defender of the singer was completed.

“I did everything that I considered best. There are even measures that I requested that were not resolved,” explained the lawyer, who wished “the best” for the new defense of L-Ghent.

Cipolla confirmed his resignation this Friday morning with a brief message that he published on his Instagram stories: “I report that I am no longer defending Elián Valenzuela.”

The cumbia 420 singer will remain in prison in the framework of the case that has him accused of having deprived of liberty and threatened two people last May at the exit of a nightclub in the district of General Rodríguez, after a judge of Garantees de Moreno will reject on Wednesday a request from his defense to stop his detention.

The decision was adopted by the judge of Guarantees 2 of Moreno, Gabriel Castro, who rejected a defense proposal that had requested that his detention cease after the appearance of a video in which one of the victims is supposedly observed getting into the car. de L-Gante, so the singer will continue to be housed in a cell at the Quilmes Departmental Investigation Delegation (DDI).

Prosecutor Villalba, in charge of the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 9 of the Judicial Department of Moreno-General Rodríguez, argued on Tuesday in an opinion that L-Gante should remain detained as the author of “illegitimate deprivation of liberty, in competition ideal with coercive threats aggravated by the use of weapons and by being perpetuated against a member of public power”; “illegitimate deprivation of liberty in an ideal contest with coercive threats aggravated by the use of a weapon”; and “simple possession of narcotic drugs as author.”

“We lack certain knowledge regarding its origin, place, date, time and other circumstances regarding who would turn out to be responsible for said obtaining for its filming and obtaining the record,” said the prosecutor in his letter, rejecting the incorporation of a video that the musician’s defense had presented.

As Cipolla had indicated in his presentation, the complainant Gastón Torres -a neighbor of the singer’s family- got into the BMW van that L-Gante was driving “in the context of a discussion in which there were clearly no signs of fear on the part of none of those present.”

“Undoubtedly, what is appreciated in the video that is incorporated, demolishes the factual description made by the Prosecutor’s Office in which the ‘well-founded fear’ is constantly alluded to that caused the threatening attitude through the use of an alleged firearm by part of Elián”, Cipolla had expressed in the letter.

When testifying before prosecutor Villalba, L-Gante had denied the charges but did not answer questions from the prosecution.

The case

The complaint that led to the singer’s arrest was made on May 27 by Torres, a neighbor of the Valenzuela family, who lives in the Bicentenario neighborhood of General Rodríguez, in the western suburbs.

On the morning of that day, at the exit of the “Río” dance venue located in that town, there was an incident with several young members of the so-called “La Mafilia”, the group of friends and musicians to which L-Gante belongs.

When Torres left the club to go home, he began to receive threats from Valenzuela: “You messed with La Mafilia, you messed with 420, you’ll see what will happen to you,” he told him, according to said the complainant’s lawyer, Leonardo Sigal.

After that, always according to the complaint, members of that same group went to his house and physically assaulted both him and his family and then a white BMW drove by L-Gante passed by, lowered the window, pointed a gun at him. and got Torres in the car.

A few meters away, a young woman, a neighbor of the musician, who had participated in the first discussion with the singer’s friends, was also intercepted and forced to get on the same vehicle, according to the complaint.

Later, and always according to the statements of the complainant lawyer, some members of “La Mafilia” were delayed by the Police and L-Gante returned to where the cell phone was, lowered the window and told the agents: “Get out of the kids or this one.” I’ll kill you”, referring to the victim who was held inside his BMW.

At that time, according to the complaint, the cumbia 420 singer called another person whom he identified with a nickname and told him: “Prepare the little field for me that we will kill this parsley there.”

Torres remained captive for 23 minutes, until L-Gante received a call in which they assured him that his friends had been released by the Police and he released the victims.

An investigator assured Télam that the complaint was later corroborated by dozens of security cameras, by the geolocation of cell phones and by the statements of the police, other witnesses and relatives of the victims.

With the evidence gathered, the prosecution requested the arrest of L-Gante before the Court of Guarantees 2, who validated the request and ordered four raids, one of them in sector 1 of the country of Club Banco Provincia, where the musician was finally arrested. .

In the proceedings, the BMW car was seized; four replicas of firearms, two of them pistol-type, the other two rifle-type; five Iphone cell phones and 40 grams of marijuana.
