Carlos Naser (41), a mechanic from Morón, has been detained since Sunday. The victim was Melina Pizarro (34), mother of three children. This Thursday testifies a witness.

The lie lasted only a few hours. Carlos Alí Naser (41) called 911 from his home in Morón and reported the theft of his Chevrolet Corsa. The operator informed him that a patrolman would go to his house to take his statement. He did not take long to appear, but to take him arrested for having run over and killed a woman in the West Access.

Naser is a mechanic, is married and is the father of a 5-year-old son who was inside the car at the time of the incident. His parents are retired, also from the western zone of Greater Buenos Aires.

When he got home, the man made up a lie to support what he had done. He took out the license plate for his car and kept it in the garage. He nervously pretended to have been the victim of a robbery.

The police officers who came to his home to take his statement noted contradictions in the account of his wife, a direct witness to the event. That’s how they stopped him and ended up discovering that he had run over a person. The mechanic immediately confessed.

Judicial sources confirmed to Clarín that the eyewitness to the event was the one who alerted 911 to the presence of a body on the highway, at kilometer 20.44.

The investigation was left in the hands of prosecutor Matías Rappazzo, who investigated him for the crime of “aggravated manslaughter”, for driving recklessly and for having fled the scene.

The man appeared with a private lawyer, but the Guarantee Court did not resolve the request. Although there are no deadlines, in the next few days they will define if he remains in custody or if the process continues in freedom.

During the investigation, Naser decided to testify and said that his son was sleeping in the back seat when he began to cough because he had “bronchospasm.”

“My wife assisted him (the baby) and looked at him, because he had been sleeping in the back seat, and when he looked forward again he yelled ‘guard!’ There I see a black figure that came from the right side towards me, crossed in front of me and I rammed it. I braked, but it was not enough to avoid the impact, ”he declared in the file, as published by Primer Plano.

In his account, Naser acknowledged that the blow and the broken windshield scared his son, who woke up crying. “My wife told me to stop but at that moment I went blind. All I wanted was to take my son home, but I didn’t want to stop and see what had happened,” he confessed.

The victim

The hit woman died instantly. There was no time for anything. Witnesses who passed by on the highway at the time of the event acknowledged that “until 4:45 there were no police or ambulances at the scene.”

According to the preliminary result of the autopsy, the victim died of a traumatic cardiorespiratory arrest, “secondary to hypovolemic shock and spinal cord shock due to polytrauma.” Also, there were no “agony moments.”

It is not clear why Melina was walking on the highway at dawn, an area where pedestrian circulation is prohibited, beyond the crimes for which the driver of the vehicle was accused.

Pizarro was a merchant and had three children. It was his brother who recognized the body to be able to fire her.
