Pep Guardiola, Manchester City coach, assured that he does not understand why Real Madrid has one more day off before the Champions League semi-final second leg.
The ‘Sky Blues’ will play this Sunday against Everton, while Real Madrid faces Getafe on Saturday night.
“I don’t understand it, but I have to adapt. I can’t fight the schedule. It is what it is,” Guardiola said at a press conference.
“I am sure that the Premier League wants to help its teams. They don’t want us to be uncomfortable, but it’s the schedule. You have to adapt. I would have preferred to play on Saturday, of course, but what am I going to do? We have one more day to recover for Everton, but one day less against Real Madrid.”
Manchester City and Real Madrid will face each other next Wednesday, May 17, in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals after the 1-1 draw that both teams signed at the Bernabéu.
