In a groundbreaking logistical achievement, Kazakh companies have, in collaboration with a Pakistani partner, successfully executed the first multimodal transportation of trade containers from Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The project was spearheaded by NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, the national railway company of Kazakhstan, alongside KTZ Express JSC and QazTrade JSC. The transportation chain commenced at the Pavlodar Free Economic Zone (FEZ) on April 27. The process began with the loading of products into two 21-ton trucks, which were then shipped to the Zhetygen Transport and Logistics Center (TLC). At Zhetygen, the cargo was transferred into two 40-foot sea containers, ready to embark on the next leg of the journey.
These containers were subsequently mounted on trucks equipped with container trailers and dispatched towards the Pakistani port of Karachi. The journey to Karachi spanned 20 days and covered a distance of approximately 4,900 kilometers. Upon arrival in Karachi on June 1, the containers were promptly loaded onto a feeder vessel, which transported them to the port of Jebel Ali in the UAE, arriving on June 3. The entire transportation period amounted to 38 days, proving to be an effective solution for the client.
