After the deep victory for a third term as the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj gives tonight the first television interview on Top Channel with the moderator Grida Duma.
Satisfied by the large difference in votes, Veliaj himself made an analysis of his opponents.
For the candidate of “Bashke Fitomje”, Belind Këlliçi, the mayor says that he was a stronger candidate than Ilir Meta or Sali Berisha.
“In the conditions of that party, he was the best possible candidate.”
For Arlind Qori, who was the third most voted candidate, Veliaj says that he expected such a result.
“I expected it, because I had a similar battle with Bojaxhiu in 2015.”
Veliaj further comments on the ideology followed by these two candidates. According to him, even Kelliçi, a candidate of a right-wing force, has presented a left-wing ideology to the citizens.
“But if he leans to the right, Qori leans to the left. Belindi had Marxist tendencies, but he does not accept it. Qori at least accepts it”.
