LA mayor criticizes ‘abhorrent’ violence after anti-Israel protesters block synagogue

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, a Democrat, described a violent conflict between anti-Israel agitators and Israel supporters as “abhorrent” on social media late Sunday evening.

The violence started shortly earlier than midday on Sunday in entrance of the Adas Torah synagogue within the 9000 block of Pico Boulevard.

“At the moment’s violence within the Pico-Robertson neighborhood right now was abhorrent, and blocking entry to a spot of worship is unacceptable,” Bass wrote late Sunday evening on X.

Bass mentioned she known as on the Los Angeles Police Division to supply extra patrols within the Pico-Robertson neighborhood and outdoors locations of worship all through town.

There have been many protests in Los Angeles and throughout the nation following Hamas terrorists’ Oct. 7 assault on Israel, which prompted ongoing navy retaliation from Israeli forces.
