Police in Newfoundland say a person has been arrested after they issued an emergency alert to residents’ telephones this morning.
In a tweet posted about an hour after the alert was issued, RCMP mentioned the person had been apprehended and there was no additional threat to public security.
The person has been arrested. RCMP thanks the general public for the ideas obtained. Residents can resume regular actions and might anticipate to see an elevated police presence within the space because the investigation continues. They are saying folks can resume their regular actions, although police can be within the space because the investigation continues.
The emergency alert lit up telephones round 9:30 a.m., warning of a person in Carbonear who was mentioned to armed.
The alert urged residents within the space to remain inside and lock their doorways.
Carbonear is dwelling to about 6,200 folks and it is a 110-kilometre drive west of the provincial capital of St. John’s.
