Man arrested after New Orleans tarmac hatch escape, dramatic runway seize caught on video

Airport employees tackled a person who authorities say popped open an emergency escape hatch on a Southwest Airways flight Sunday, climbed out onto the wing and was tackled on the tarmac on the Louis Armstrong New Orleans Worldwide Airport.

A video clip circulating on-line exhibits confused fellow passengers discussing the incident as they deplane – after which exhibits the person battling baggage employees outdoors a pickup truck under the terminal.

“There was an incident through which a passenger opened an emergency exit and acquired onto the wing whereas the airplane was nonetheless on the skyway and had not pushed again,” Jefferson Parish Public Info Officer Sgt. Brandon Veal informed Fox Information Digital. “The airplane was not transferring on the time. He was caught on the tarmac, and transported to a neighborhood hospital for analysis.
