Marc Anthony announces golf tournament in Miami

Music stars such as Chayanne, Luis Fonsi and Yandel or the member of the Baseball Hall of Fame Iván “Pudge” Rodríguez will participate on May 9 in Miami, Florida, USA in a Maestro Foundation golf tournament Cares by singer Marc Anthony to raise funds for underprivileged children in Latin America and the United States.

The organization reported this Thursday, April 13 in a statement that the Biltmore Hotel course in Coral Gables, a city near Miami, will host, in association with the PGA TOUR, the second annual Maestro Cares Foundation Golf Tournament, which put launched in 2012 Marc Anthony and businessman Henry Cárdenas.

This year’s edition follows the one held in April 2022, which brought together on the same stage Juan “Chi Chi” Rodríguez, a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, the aforementioned “Pudge” and former NFL players Nat Moore, Mark “Super” Duper and John Offerdahl, as well as artists Nicky Jam and Pedro Capó, among others.

The tournament seeks to raise funds to improve the quality of life of underprivileged children in Latin America and the US.

The list of celebrities who will participate in this year’s tournament includes Puerto Rican singers Chayanne, Luis Fonsi and Yandel, as well as Latino media personalities such as Tony Dandrades, Enrique Santos, Rico León (HGTV) and DJ Extreme.

Other figures that will participate are the retired LPGA athlete Tammie Green and the artist Romero Brito.

Marc Anthony, co-founder of the Maestro Cares Foundation, said of the event that he is pleased to “join forces with the PGA TOUR” with the goal of increasing “the visibility of this tournament that will provide critical resources to families and children in need.”

“It is a blessing to continue making a difference for Latino youth and communities together with the Maestro Cares Foundation, and events like this help us continue to grow,” said the New Yorker.

Anthony and Henry Cárdenas launched the Maestro Cares Foundation in 2012 with the mission of providing safe spaces for children in Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Mexico, Bolivia, Peru, El Salvador, Chile, Puerto Rico and the United States.
