Matthew McConaughey and his wife, Camila Alves, revealed they are allowing their son, Levi, to join social media before his 15th birthday despite being “nervous” about the milestone.
“Happy Birthday Levi Alves McConaughey,” his father said in a joint Instagram post with 41-year-old Alves on Friday.
“Can you believe it?” she said, turning to her husband. “Fifteen years young,” he replied, adding, “Hey buddy, your mom is a little nervous today. One of the gifts we’re giving you, yes, we’re letting you join the social media universe today.”
The 53-year-old ‘The Gentlemen’ star revealed that the couple had been discussing since he was 12 when they would bless him to get an account.

“All his friends have had him for a long time,” Alves noted. “We’ve held on.”
McConaughey added, “He knows who he is and he knows where he’s going. I think he can handle it. He’s got a great story to tell and share.”
“I want you all to know,” he said, turning to the camera, “you’re getting a really cool and respectful young man in Levi McConaughey, and I hope you can all do your best to treat him the same.” way.”

The “Dallas Buyers Club” actor concluded, “Levi, enjoy the adventure, enjoy telling your story, expressing yourself and what you bring out and the exchange you get with people out there.”

Levi shared his first Instagram post within the same hour and responded to his parent’s post in the comments by writing, “Thank you Mom and Dad!!”

“Let me tell you this,” McConaughey says as David Wooderson in the clip, “the older you get, the more rules they’ll try to get you to follow. You just gotta keep living, man. LIVIN.”
His father commented, “Levi is alive #happybirthday.”
Commentators praised McConaughey and Alves for keeping Levi waiting until he was 15 to join social media.
“Good for you. More parents should have this rule,” one person wrote and another called them “parent goals.”
