On International Women’s Day, the American ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, gave her congratulatory message, along with an appeal to Albanian girls and women.
The sensitization message was also joined by the ambassador of Greece, the ambassador of Sweden, the ambassador of France, Israel, Switzerland, Poland, and the UN coordinator in Albania.
“Today on International Women’s Day, we women ambassadors honor those who fought for women’s right to vote. We call on women to vote in the upcoming local elections on May 14. Give value to your vote for better local services”, says this video message.
Ambassador Yuri Kim together with the Commander of the National Guard of New Jersey Brigadier General Lisa Hou discussed the empowerment of women’s participation in the most priority sectors of defense.
“Security in Europe is not just a women’s issue but also includes women. These moments we are facing critical challenges. It has been 1 year since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We in the US believe that our children should live in a free, open, safe and prosperous world,” said Yuri Kim.
“We are proud to have a member like Albania in NATO and we are also proud to see you making progress towards EU membership”, she added.
Yuri Kim reminded the military women of Skanderbeg’s statement that “Union makes Power”.
