The versatile government institute Roberto Micheletti Bain from the village of Agua Blanca Sur in El Progreso, Yoro, won first place this weekend at the First Jarabe Yoreño National Folk Festival in the municipality of Morazán.

The deputy director of Roberto Micheletti Bain, Reina Rivera, explained that it is very important to involve young people in extracurricular activities within educational centers that motivate them to develop soft skills, such as knowing how to function in front of the public. “What better than to do it from the strengthening of our identity, as is the dance of folkloric dances”, she said.
He also highlighted the great challenges that government educational centers may have to achieve a victory in the category.

He folkloric festival Jarabe Yoreño is part of the patronal festival of the municipality of Morazán, Yoro, which had as a special guest the Ballet Folklorico Oro Lenca that was shone with a majestic presentation.
In the couple dance category, Folkloric Projection Magisterial Zenzontle from San Pedro Sula, won first place. Second place went to Popol Hol de CholomaCortés, and third place went to Essence of Honduras from San Pedro Sula.
There was also a competition in the category of extra-school dance groups in which the Esencia de Honduras group took third place, the second went to Popol Hol and the first place went to the Municipal de Santa Rita, which was also awarded the Best Presence, Best Costumes and Best Dancer awards.
In the end, the Proyección Folklórica Magisterial Zenzontle dance group was awarded as the great winner of all categories.
