Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz appeared to misspeak at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, prompting social media conservative commentators to pounce on the obvious gaffe.

Throughout his speech in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Saturday afternoon, Walz was discussing gun violence when he turned distracted by an viewers member who appeared to want water. Walz, the operating mate of Vice President Kamala Harris, strayed from his speech to name consideration to the rallygoer. 

“Issues like we did in Minnesota, to have enhanced background checks and pink flag legal guidelines, to get weapons out of there, to make a distinction,” Walz described.

“And I nonetheless acquired my weapons to go shoot pheasants in a pair weeks….We’d like some water, can we get [a] examine on him?” the candidate added, whereas pointing on the attendee.

Round two minutes later, the Democrat introduced consideration again to the race and started criticizing former President Trump and his operating mate JD Vance.

“I will carry her residence right here fast, of us: Look, Kamala Harris made it clear these guys need to instill concern,” Walz started. “They need to let you know that [you should] simply recover from it, it is a reality of life. That is the best way it’s.”

“[Harris] merely has stated it does not need to be this fashion,” he added. “It does not need to be this fashion. We won’t afford 4 extra years of this.”

Walz then segued into discussing Undertaking 2025, which the Trump marketing campaign has repeatedly disavowed.

Though Walz might have been referring to gun violence or Trump’s rhetoric when he cited “4 extra years” of a difficulty, the paradox of his assertion led conservative commentators to roast the Minnesota governor on social media for what seemed to be a criticism of the Biden administration.

“Dude is campaigning for Trump now?” commentator Rita Panahi wrote on X.

“I’m with Him/Tim,” Donald Trump Jr. jokingly replied.

Trump Conflict Room, an X account run by Trump’s presidential marketing campaign, wrote, “WALZ FINALLY TELLS THE TRUTH: ‘We won’t afford 4 extra years’ of Kamala Harris.”
